About Queen's Restaurant
In 1974, fueled by passion and a dream, Soneelam Chodha laid the foundation for Queen’s Restaurant in the heart of Bangalore. What began as a modest attempt at cooking blossomed into an iconic place for genuine Punjabi cuisine, celebrated for its soul-soothing flavors and dishes that felt like a warm embrace from home. Despite facing a temporary closure in 2017, the resilient spirit of Queen’s prevailed, resurfacing during the challenging times of the pandemic with the unwavering support of devoted customers and the backing of compassionate investors, Jagadish Bangalore and Neena Agarwal and the founders’ son Anshul Chodha.
Now, in 2024, Queen’s stands as a testament to resilience, with multiple outlets, including a heartwarming return to Church Street. The journey hasn’t just been about food – it’s about shared moments, loyalty, and the customers coming back to satisfy the cravings for homely Punjabi food.
The main ingredients in the food at Queen’s are the Love and Care that goes into making every dish. Fresh and quality ingredients, homemade panner and masalas are used to satisfy the palate of our customers. Over the years, Queen’s has developed a Cult like following and has become people’s hot favorite haunt for Punjabi home food. Every customer seems to have their own favorites and every dish, has something soulful to offer. It now stands tall in the culinary heritage of Bangalore much to the delight of its followers and loyal customers who couldn’t get enough of this ‘Earthy’ Punjabi eatery by making it one of Bangalore’s iconic spots for authentic Punjabi food.
Unfortunately, due to unavoidable circumstances, Queen’s had to shut down in 2017 when Shrungar Shopping Complex’s lease expired, evicting all the tenants. Queens home kitchen opened during the Covid pandemic to serve its loyal customers in their local neighborhood. It was during this time that a couple of Queen’s biggest and loyal fans Jagadish Bangalore and Neena Agarwal, during a chance meeting with the Chodha family decided to come together as investors and partners with Anshul Chodha in the new venture of re-opening of this brand.
The new rebranded Queen’s reopened off New BEL Road near M.S. Ramaiah Hospital in RMV Extension 2nd Stage in August, 2021. A year later in September 2022, another outlet opened at Prestige Technostar in Brookfield. In its 50th year, Queen’s Restaurant re-opened its doors in a new avatar on Church Street in the heart of central Bangalore in January 2024. This was a special homecoming for the restaurant, back to where it all started 5 decades ago.
The partners along with the founder’s family have a vision make the restaurant “THE PLACE” for homely Punjabi food and to take the brand global with best practices in the industry. Our purpose is to provide soulful authentic Punjabi food of delectable taste and quality in the most hygienic and contemporary “dhaba” environment. Our regular longtime loyal customers have visited the new locations to relive their old restaurant days and we also have new customers tasting the food for the first time appreciating the legacy and longevity of Queen’s.
