Paneer Paratha Recipe
Here’s an authentic recipe for Punjabi-Style Paneer Paratha, a wholesome stuffed flatbread filled with spiced grated paneer, perfect with butter, curd, or pickle.
Ingredients
For the Dough:

2 cups whole wheat flour (atta)

½ teaspoon salt

1 tablespoon oil or ghee

Water (as needed for kneading)
For the Stuffing:

1 cup paneer (grated or crumbled)
-
1 green chili (finely chopped)
-
1 tablespoon fresh coriander (finely chopped)
-
½ teaspoon garam masala
-
½ teaspoon roasted cumin powder
-
½ teaspoon red chili powder
-
½ teaspoon dry mango powder (amchur) or chaat masala
-
Salt to taste
For Cooking:

Ghee or butter (for frying on the tawa)
Instructions
1. Prepare the Dough

In a bowl, mix wheat flour and salt.

Add oil/ghee and mix well.

Gradually add water and knead into a soft, pliable dough.

Cover with a damp cloth and rest for 20–30 minutes.
2. Prepare the Stuffing

In a mixing bowl, add grated paneer.

Mix in green chili, coriander, garam masala, cumin powder, red chili powder, amchur, and salt.

Combine well to make a uniform stuffing.
3. Stuff and Roll the Paratha

Divide dough into medium-sized balls.

Roll out one ball into a small disc (about 4–5 inches).

Place 2–3 tablespoons of paneer stuffing in the center.

Bring the edges together to seal tightly.

Flatten gently and roll out into a paratha (6–7 inches), dusting with dry flour if needed.
4. Cook the Paratha

Heat a tawa on medium flame.

Place the paratha and cook for 30–40 seconds.

Flip, apply ghee/butter on the cooked side, and press gently.

Flip again, apply ghee/butter, and cook until golden brown spots appear on both sides.
Serve

Serve hot with a dollop of butter, curd, and pickle.
